Is there such a thing as bad teeth runs in the family? I’ve heard so many of that excuses among the patients with rampant decay and for long they have content to the idea and not understanding why they have bad rotten teeth. When I asked them about their diet, all of them admit to drinking water occasionally and they drink sodas and iced tea most of the time. Some of them proudly report to cut down sodas and only drink iced tea. Little do they know that iced tea is even worst than sodas. And brushing teeth right after consuming sodas and iced tea do not prevent or lessen the decay attack. Here are a few tips for maintaining healthy teeth:
- Drink mostly water as possible.
- Sodas and iced tea very bad for teeth. Same goes with anything that are sweet
- Chew gum can prevent teeth decay
- Floss and brush your teeth everyday
The main message I want to make today is if you want to really reduce the chance of having cavities then think a little bit about what you are putting in your mouth. Sweets are okay to consume but do it moderately. WATER is the best for refreshments! Absolutely cut down on sodas and iced tea as much as possible. Teenagers seem to love iced tea and it’s the leading cause for dental decay that I observed today.
